Day 4 - My Chosen Portion

Psalm 16:5-6
5 The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
6 The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
I hope you've been following along these past four days. Not only that, I hope you are fully dedicating yourself and your 2024 to the Lord. If you are, then you can joyfully proclaim why you are doing this: because He is your chosen portion! (Read the verses above once more.)
Portion here contains so much. It's like saying He is our prize, our inheritance, our reward, our goal and our destiny! It's Him! He's our everything. He is the reason we breathe. He is the One we adore, we praise, we worship. He's also exactly what we need.
When we realize this, as the Psalmist did, then we can see clearly that He has done pleasant and favorable things in our lives. We can see we have a beautiful inheritance, not only in the future, but in the here and now! Some of us might be needing Him to do more pleasant and favorable things in our lives. Now is the time to ask Him for those! Ask Him for the lines to fall for you in pleasant places, and He will do it! This is a time of increase and favor for you, for me, and for all of God's people who have made Him their chosen portion! NOW IS THE TIME!
Pray this with me:
"Lord, You alone are my portion and my cup. Apart from You I can do nothing. Lord I thank You that You hold my lot; You hold what You think I deserve, and You hold what You long to give me. I pray that not only my lot, but our lots would increase! I pray for more pleasant and favorable things to happen in my life today! Surprise me, oh Lord! For You are my portion, and I indeed have a beautiful inheritance. Thank you. In Jesus' name, amen!"
