Day 18 - Don't Give Up

By Pastor Tim Escamilla

Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Anytime we get closer to the Lord, or make major moves to get closer to the Lord, the enemy goes on the offensive. We talked about this in service a few weeks ago, how there are predators that want to stop you from growing closer to the Lord, from doing good, and want to get you to give up your faith entirely.

They will take advantage of any situation that happens around you. They will try to tire you, exhaust you, and overtake you in a moment of weakness. Well, we saw that no one can snatch us out of the hand of God. In spite of this fact, we sometimes do get tired. It happens to all of us. We grow weary. We wake up tired; we go to sleep tired. We get exhausted. It's okay when that happens.

It's okay to be tired! But Paul warns us to NOT grow tired of doing good. It's okay to be weary, just don't grow weary of doing good! Many times in Scripture we're given commandments. Sometimes we cannot see what the immediate benefit and blessing that comes along with following the commandment is. Here, we are able to see the blessing that will come when we don't grow weary in doing good:

When the time comes, we will reap if we don't give up. We'll get that good thing we're going after. We'll get that blessing we've been praying for, yet haven't seen much movement on. We'll be able to see the Lord move in our lives powerfully as we don't get tired of doing good!

No matter how encouraged you are, keep doing good. No matter how discouraged you are, keep doing good. Throughout the good and the bad, the hurtful and the joyful, keep doing good. Throughout relational ups and downs, keep doing good.

That's my prayer for you and for me; that we would keep doing good!
