Day 19 - Help Them Glorify God

Galatians 1:24

And they glorified God because of me.

This verse has always fascinated me. I have thought about it many, many times. At first, it may seem braggadocious. It may seem like Paul is tooting his own horn, so to speak. But if we read it carefully, we'll see that the only One receiving glory is God! How much joy Paul must've felt writing these words! It fills us with joy and a sense of accomplishment when we help others glorify God. 

What was it that Paul did that made them glorify God because of him? Read closely:

Galatians 1:23

They only were hearing it said, “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”

This is a story of redemption; a story of complete transformation. Here's the awesome thing that brings God glory: only God can bring true change like this. The persecutor of the faith has now become a preacher of the faith! This is why they glorified God in him. When God does something, share it with others so that He receives the glory! Not only does He receive glory, but our faith becomes stronger. The faith of those who are around us becomes stronger, too. 

I long to be a person that helps others glorify God because of me. I believe you long for the same thing! Let's declare right now that "they will glorify God because of me!" 

Let's pray:

"Heavenly Father, I long to help others glorify You. You deserve the glory for every good and perfect thing in my life. You deserve the glory that I am no longer destined for hell, but rather, my destination is You and heaven! You deserve the glory that I no longer live the way I used to live. Help me to live in such a way that 'they will glorify You because of me!' Amen!"
